Who remembers when waiting 60 seconds for a 56K modem to load was a luxury?
We have done a bit of digging here at Nseries and according to a new study titled ‘What Users Want From Mobile‘ it appears that mobile users expectations aren’t being met. For instance 71% of global mobile users expect websites to load as quickly on their mobile as they do on their computer. Nearly two thirds of global web users expect a website to load on their mobile within 3 seconds or less, and nearly three quarters of people will leave the site if the page hasn’t loaded within 5 seconds. It’s not just websites either, it’s opening images and apps as well!
So, what can we do about it? Well being the helpful bunch we are at Nseries – here are 8 tips to help speed up your phone!
1. Messaging
Try saving your SMS messages to your mass memory, not your phone memory.
2. Remove live wallpaper
It may look pretty but it doesn’t do much other than eat into that precious processing power.
3. Remove unnecessary Apps
Do you use all your apps? If you have some gathering dust in the corner screen of your phone, delete them, they’re only taking up valuable memory.
4. Transfer your old photos & videos
You build up quite a collection of photos and video’s on your phone without even knowing it. Transfer them to your laptop or external hard drive – better yet, share it on your social networks!

5. Manage your multi-tasking
Multi-tasking on a smartphone is useful indeed, but it may also make your phone run a bit slower, especially if you’re running a very active Twitter client!
6. Cache Regularly
A useful tip is to clear your browser cache regularly or alternatively use an app such as NetQin Mobile Guard v3.0 which helps to remove junk and protect your phone against malware.
7. Monitor your E-mails
We spend a lot of time reading them, but not so much time deleting them. Limit the number of e-mails you keep on your phone in e-mail settings.
8. Reduce Bitrate
It is a small change but one that adds up. By using a programme to help reduce the bitrate of MP3′s to low or moderate you will be saving space.
Applying these tips and tricks should help save you some valuable space on your phone and speed it up a bit. If you know any more, feel free to share!
