Skype WiFi App available now for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

Skype WiFi
Skype has just renamed its previously known service Skype Access to Skype WiFi. Together with this rebranding, the new Skype WiFi app for iDevices (iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad) has just been released in the App Store.
The Skype WiFi app will allow you to go online on your iDevices running iOS 4.1 or above through WiFi hotspots around the world. These include WiFi hotspots in hotels, airports, train stations and other places. What makes Skype WiFi different from Skype’s other VoIP services is the fact that you only need to use your Skype Credit to pay for the minutes you use. This means that you don’t have to buy WiFi vouchers if you just want to check your email or make a Skype-to-Skype call.
If you travel a lot, Skype WiFi will definitely be a money-saver and must-have app for your iDevices. It’s a very cost-effective and easy way of going online. And since you’re abroad, it prevents you from incurring huge data roaming charges which takes its toll even if you’re just updating your Facebook, posting a tweet, uploading photos or making a Skype call. With Skype WiFi you will only be charged for the minutes that your iDevices are actually connected online. Prices for this scheme usual starts from US$ 0.06/4p/€0,05 (inclusive of VAT) per minute.
To get started using Skype WiFi, simply download the app, and login using your Skype account. To kick off the release of this new app, Skype is giving you the chance to try out the service for free from August 20-21.
